What is Hypnotherapy and How Does it Work?

Hypnotherapy is a natural and effective technique that allows you to gain access to your subconscious mind. It is the key to unleashing your potential, changing your unwanted habits and behaviors and finding solutions to your problems and concerns.

Hypnosis

Hypnosis is an altered state of awareness and consciousness known as trance. Trance is a natural, and tremendously pleasant state of relaxation that you allow yourself to enter. Unlike the “mind control” implied by stage hypnosis, you cannot be made to go into trance or do things if you don’t want to. Hypnotherapy uses this trance state for therapeutic purposes.

Once in the trance state, beneficial suggestions, that you have agreed to with your hypnotherapist, can be given directly to the subconscious mind. In effect, you are reprogramming those things that you are unhappy with, eliminating limiting beliefs and destructive behaviors.  Once free from what was holding you back you can easily move into new actions and behaviors.

What is your subconscious mind?

All your behaviors, memories, knowledge and habits reside here. You can think of your subconscious mind as a storehouse of strengths and potential that your conscious mind generally doesn’t allow you to access. It’s also home to your negative beliefs which are responsible for many of your problems and self-doubts.

Most coaching and counseling takes place at the conscious level which is not where your beliefs reside. Under hypnosis, your conscious mind is temporarily bypassed allowing your subconscious mind to be receptive to therapy without conscious interference allowing change to take place with ease.
